CMI Awarded Contract for Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) in Gulfport, MS
Alexandria, VA – Augst 30, 2010
CMI Management, Inc. (CMI) is pleased to announce that through our GSA Facilities Schedule, we were selected to provide facilities maintenance support services for the Armed Forces Retirement (AFRH) Home in Gulfport, MS. CMI also operates the Washington, DC facility.
The AFRH Gulfport, Mississippi campus, which has been home to thousands of former enlisted military since 1976, was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Residents had to be transferred to the Washington, DC facility until the new facility could be built. Congress appointed GSA as the lead construction agent to rebuild the main 660,000 square feet building that will now be home for 582 eligible veterans and retired military personnel. The new facility provides controlled parking, complete landscaping of entire site, outdoor areas, and recreation areas.
For the AFRH, CMI is providing comprehensive support for all building management, administrative, and technical support for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the facility. CMI brings more than 20 years of experience performing comprehensive facilities management projects nationwide.
“We welcome the opportunity to serve our nation by serving the retired veterans,” commented Abe Abraham, CEO of CMI Management. “We will continue to provide the exceptional service we started in Washington, DC.”
