CMI Provides Asset Management to Old Post Office Pavillion

Alexandria, VA - February 10, 2005

CMI Management is providing asset management technology services to the Old Post Office Pavillion as part of its building operations, maintenance and management. In particular, CMI is using the technology to assist the national historic site track and manage services requests to ensure the building is safe and accessible. Using MRO's Maximo Asset Management software and Siemens Energy Management System, CMI set up a process that is improving the efficiency and timeliness of service handling, complaint handling, and reporting to proactively improve preventative maintenance issues.

The Old Post Office Pavilion is a historic site and a "show place" requiring particularly high quality services of all types for the maintenance of the facility. Presently, this building is being used for both retail and commercial office space. The central atrium is an upscale mall for boutiques and restaurants to attract tourism to Washington, D. C. It is incumbent on CMI to maintain this facility in a particularly high quality of presentability. CMI is responsible for the operation of the mechanical, electrical and utility equipment of the building, and for prevention of damage to the building and equipment due to freezing weather. CMI provides for both routine and emergency Service Calls, and is using asset management technology to provide exceptional service in this area. CMI responds to building emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
